Nice! This is an extremely slow grower when submersed...do you think it will grow quicker emersed?

Once I get my racks built, I may have to try growing some of the more rare Anubias nana species like the 'Marbled' and 'Gold' emersed.

Yes, infact I had one of the 2 pieces in another emersed setup and it responded so well that I had to give it it's own setup. It only took a couple of days before newer, smaller leaves started pointing up towards the light where in a planted tank I saw no growth. While I think it would look really cool completely grown in, I'm more interested in getting some flowers out of this setup.

I gotta tell you, this AquaSoil is really getting me results that doesn't even compare most of the other substrates I've tried, even better than flourite. Potting soil and stem plants are another successful combo.

Sweet! It is a painfully slow grower submersed. If you have success with them you should look into a bigger, shallow tank like a 33 long or that 50g I had. You could make a decent amount of money selling emersed C. parva. I wonder if there will be a lot of "Crypt Melt" when these transition?

I've heard a lot of good reports on Aqua Soil. It seems to be about the same cost as Eco Complete but a much better product...at least the original Aqua Soil. Aqua Soil II has some issues from what I have heard. I think I will give it a try in one of my planted 75s after I get the rack built. I plan on putting CRS in a 75g with some Anubias and Java Ferns and probably a few stems but probably won't dose the tank with much, if anything.

It is a slow grower, but I still have a Glosso setup to watch! I pretty much kiss the old leaves goodbye, because new leaves will sprout from the rhyzomes. I even started clipping the oldest, longest and in some cases BBA covered leaves before planting. Like I said, it responded immediately going from submersed to emersed, so that's a good sign for the future. On APC, I've heard several comments about this plant needing a "nutrient rich" substrate for submersed growth. My submersed setup was not like this and didn't have a nutrient rich substrate either. It got fertilized in the water column. Isn't it wonderful how different plants have different needs?

There are several small, new leaves, but you wouldn't be able to tell from these pics. I'll probably only post once every month or two from now on for this sloooooooowwww grower.

About a month or so ago, I added a really small C. wendtii 'Red' and now it's about 4 times the size it was. This plant growing at a screaming rate...for a crypt.

I added 2 Madagascar Lace Plant seeds in this setup this evening. I planted 1 in each of the back corners. We'll see what happens!
